✦ Terms of Service
Last updated 28 October 2026
The short version
The Floo Directory is an unofficial fan project and a guide to magical places, events, and experiences. We list them; we don’t own or run them, and we don’t take bookings or payments. When you book or buy, that happens on someone else’s site under their terms. Be decent to other people, don’t misuse the service, and check details with a venue before you travel.
An unofficial fan project
The Floo Directory is an independent, non-commercial project made by fans, for fans. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., J.K. Rowling, Pottermore, or any other rights holder in the Wizarding World.
Harry Potter, Hogwarts, the four house names, the Floo Network, and related names, characters, and indicia are trademarks of and copyright their respective owners. They are used here as unofficial fan reference only. We claim no ownership of them and make no commercial use of them.
If you represent a rights holder and would like something changed or removed, please get in touch using the contact details at the bottom of this page and we will act on it promptly.
Agreeing to these terms
The Floo Directory (“we”, “us”) is operated by Opheim Consulting, based in the United States. These terms are an agreement between you and Opheim Consulting.
By using The Floo Directory you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree with them, please don’t use the service. They work alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your information.
Who can use it
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. If you are under 16, please don’t sign up. If we learn that an account belongs to someone younger, we will remove it.
If you create an account, give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
Your account
You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself. If you think someone else has got into your account, tell us as soon as you can using the contact details at the bottom of this page, and change your password.
If you sign in with Google, your use of your Google account is also governed by Google’s own terms, and keeping that account secure is up to you.
What this service is — and isn’t
The Floo Directory is a directory. We gather information about places, rentals, events, and experiences so you can find them. We do not own, operate, staff, inspect, or endorse any of the venues or events listed, and a listing is not a recommendation or a guarantee about the place behind it.
We never take your money. The service does not process payments or handle bookings of any kind.
Links to other sites
Listings link out to third-party sites — a venue’s own page, a rental platform, a ticket seller, or a map provider. Those sites open in a new tab and are run by other people under their own terms and privacy policies.
Any booking, purchase, cancellation, refund, or dispute is between you and that third party. We are not a party to it and cannot resolve it for you.
Listing information may be wrong
Opening hours, prices, availability, and descriptions change, and some listing details come from third parties. We make a reasonable effort to keep things current, but we can’t promise any of it is accurate or complete.
Please confirm the details that matter — opening times, accessibility, age limits, price — directly with the venue before relying on them or travelling.
What you post
Your display name, bio, profile photo, and any reviews you write stay yours. By adding them you give us permission to store and display them as part of running the service, and you confirm you have the right to use what you upload. This permission ends when you remove the content or close your account.
Note that profile photos are publicly readable by anyone with the image’s direct address — see the Privacy Policy for the detail. Don’t upload anything you wouldn’t want to be public.
Ideas and feedback. If you send us suggestions or feedback, you agree we may use them to improve the service without owing you anything for them. Please don’t send anything you consider confidential.
Things not to do
Please don’t use The Floo Directory to:
- post content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or that infringes someone else’s rights
- impersonate another person or misrepresent who you are
- scrape, bulk-download, or systematically copy listings, or try to get around technical limits
- probe or disrupt the service, or access accounts and data that aren’t yours
- use the service to break the law
Suspension and ending your account
You can stop using the service whenever you like, and you can close your account from your profile settings.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or that we reasonably believe is causing harm to other people or to the service. Where it is practical and lawful to do so, we’ll tell you why first and give you a chance to put it right; for serious or repeated problems we may act immediately. If you think we’ve got it wrong, write to us at the contact details below and we’ll take another look.
When an account is closed, its data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy.
Intellectual property
The design, code, and original text of The Floo Directory belong to us or our licensors. Listing content, venue names, photographs, and logos may belong to the venues or to other third parties, and appear here to describe the places listed.
Nothing on this site should be read as a claim over Wizarding World names or marks — see the fan project notice near the top of this page.
If you believe something here infringes your copyright or trade mark, write to us at the contact details below with enough detail to identify the material and where it appears, and we will review and respond.
Service availability
We may change, pause, or discontinue parts of the service, and we’re not able to promise it will always be available or error-free.
Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL LISTING INFORMATION ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE”, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OPHEIM CONSULTING DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ANY WARRANTY THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT ANY LISTING IS ACCURATE, CURRENT, OR SAFE.
We are not responsible for the venues, rentals, events, or experiences listed, for the conduct of anyone who runs them, or for the content, products, or services of any third-party site we link to.
Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OPHEIM CONSULTING AND ITS OWNERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR TRAVEL AND BOOKING COSTS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE OR ANY VENUE, EVENT, OR THIRD-PARTY SITE FOUND THROUGH IT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN TOLD SUCH DAMAGES ARE POSSIBLE.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE OR THESE TERMS IS LIMITED TO ONE HUNDRED US DOLLARS (US$100). Because the service is free, this reflects what you have paid us, which is nothing.
Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain warranties to be excluded or certain damages to be limited, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.
Indemnity
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Opheim Consulting and its owners, employees, and contractors from any claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you post, your misuse of the service, or your breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If a change materially affects your rights we’ll also give notice in the app, and by email where we hold an address for you, before it takes effect.
Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alaska, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from them will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Alaska.
Contact
Questions about these terms, account problems, and rights-holder or copyright requests can be sent to Opheim Consulting at peter.opheim@opheimconsulting.com.
The rest of the agreement
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about the service. If any part of them is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we don’t enforce a provision straight away, we haven’t given up the right to do so later. You may not transfer your rights under these terms; we may transfer ours to whoever takes over the service.
